I believe skin care should be simple & easy to do, otherwise we would all get lazy & the routine would not work for us! Although I'm about to show you quite a few products keep in mind i don't use them all at the same time! My skin is oily but I do have dry skin in some areas! I would say my skin is combination but I don't have a hard time dealing with the dry areas for it to be an issue!
First things first! What cleansers do I use!!! I swear by cetaphil! I get the one for normal to oily skin! It's simple but it gets the job done! I use to break out and sometimes still do but it's not my main concern anymore! I use to buy only cleansers with acne fighting medicine and I honestly feel it only made me skin worse! I switched to a simple cleanser and my skin has never looked better! I alternate between cetaphil and a new favorite of mine Olay fresh effects (shine, shine go away!) once a week I use my Clarisonic mia which I love so much! Makes a world of a difference! A few days ago I was sent a new facial exfoliant from Meiskin and I added it into my routine so I can't give you a full review on it just yet! I used it twice and I'm really loving it so far! One of my favorite exfoliants is the st ives apricot scrub! I don't have it currently but I always repurchase it! It makes for a great body exfoliant as well! Lush always has some amazing skin care products but I currently do not have any left to talk about! Maybe in a future haul!
After I wash my face, I moisturize! I cannot stress this enough ladies!! If you have oily skin don't be silly like I was for years! I always thought "why would I add more oil to my oily skin" NO! It's important to keep your skin nice and moisturized so that you don't produce more oil! This step took me years to figure out and I wish someone would have told me as a teenager! I would have avoided flaking skin from acne products and oily skin shinning away at the SAME time! My favorite moisturizer is by acne.org! I ran out recently! It's not a cheap moisturizer but it's a huge bottle & lasts a long time! In the mean time I'm using my other favorite and cheaper alternatives! Cetaphil moisturizing lotion and cerave moisturizing lotion! Sometimes I use my Clinique dramatically different moisturizing GEL! That stuff is amazing but I hate the size and the price! I still cave in and buy a bottle when I stop by
sephora!
For the most part that's the end of my skin care! Just cleanse and moisturize!
removing our makeup! A very important step in our skincare!!
My favorite makeup wipes are from the drug store and they are the Neutrogena makeup remover cleansing towelettes! I've been using these wipes for years and years! Recently I picked up the cetaphil wipes but they do not compare to my Neutrogena ones! For my eyes I sometimes use the Neutrogena oil free makeup remover! All of these products are great for removing makeup but the Garnier micellar cleansing water takes the cake! I had to order this online from over seas because unfortunately the US does not sell it! Come on America! Get with it!! We need this product in the states!!
Let's talk about those days my skin is feeling blah or I'm breaking out I use these products I'm
about to show you!! Some of these products like the eye cream and serum I should use daily but I get lazy and forget! I'm trying to get better at preventing any aging!
My holy Grail product is my Mario badescu drying cream! It's the only acne treatment I'll ever use! It doesn't dry out your skin! It does the opposite! It's meant for under surface bumps and erupted pimples and it's suppose to be a conceal under makeup type of product! I don't agree! I use it like a spot treatment! At night when I'm having any breakouts I put a little on and go to bed! Works like a charm! Can't live without this stuff!
I'm also a fan of Mario badescu drying mask but I currently ran out of that as well! The healing and soothing mask is great if your acne is red or has irritation! I have a sample of the seaweed cleansing lotion and that is also amazing! Honestly Mario Badescu is a geat company and they always give out great samples when you order! The rest of my products are drug store! My favorite mask of all time is the mint julep masque! AMAZING! Affordable! Enough said! Go try it! I always have it on hand and use it twice a week! Let's talk about the Aloe Vera, I love this stuff! I've been tanning a lot lately because it's summer and I'm always at the beach so aloe Vera has saved my body and face a few times! It's also known to help fade dark spots!! Speaking of dark spots I just received my very first influenster box and inside was the Aveeno positively radiant tone corrector! I will probably do a whole blog post about it when I've tested it out more but so far I like it!
This is the only product that was sent to me for free! Besides the meiskin facial exfoliant! The next product is the Loreal Youth code texture perfector! It's a face serum and I honestly think it's amazing! It's expensive for a drug store skin care product but totally worth the money if you are looking for a new serum! The whole youth code line is said to be amazing! You are suppose to use this serum before you moisturizer! My last two products are the Mederma scar scream which I can't live without and my eye cream which currently is the Retinol eye gel! The Mederma scar gel is easier to find but i'm not a fan! My go to is the scar cream with SPF and I use this for any dark spots I have or if I'm being a bad girl and pick at my skin. Which is terrible! Don't do it! Just don't! I'm a hypocrite but learn from my mistakes! I try not to but sometimes these hands of mine have a mind of their own! Scary right?! Anyway back to my point! Mederma scar cream is great if I ever make the mistake of picking my face, I make sure to put some Mederma on!
If you have any questions feel free to ask!
That's my skin care and I think it's pretty simple and works great for me!
